Come check out our newest work 'The Threads That Bind'. Part concert, part contemporary circus, part installation, watch us move and make sound like never before.
Using bodies, balance, strings and loops (both visible and invisible), instrumental performance will intermingle with live looping & sound art, contemporary circus (acrobatics, handbalance, aerial straps, cyr wheel) and athletic dance, exploring both musical and physical connections and celebrating the threads that unite us.
Physical strips of fabric and wire installed around the space and used as a vehicle for performance - (aerial straps and rope), to play our instruments (long lengths fabric strips become “bows” for the string instruments, lengths of wire become "strings" to be bowed) and used to connect the artists.
The Freestyle Orchestra is a performance collective of classically-trained musicians with a circus background and circus artists with musical training, interested in collaboratively authoring integrated circus experiences. Based in Vienna, Austria, they are made up of artists from all over the world fluent in both music and circus disciplines.
